Website (“Service”) is the official page for Dubrovnik International Mining school which provides the potential and registered participants with important information such as the schedule, list of lecturers and lessons, tuition fees etc. The website is operated by Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering, University of Zagreb (hereinafter referred to as Faculty). The following privacy policy is to certify to our participants that their data is collected for the purposes of school only and that it is protected in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

The website collects personal data on the participants via two Registration forms available on the page. The first Registration form is intended for all those wishing to apply for DIM ESEE school, and the other Registration form is for the participants of our online course, whereby after payment they gain access to otherwise locked lectures and materials from last year’s school.
Data collected in these two registration forms include:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Phone number
  • Address, State, Province, ZIP/Postal code, City

This data is collected only for the purpose of sending the participants their proforma invoice based on which they make the payment of the tuition fee either for DIM ESEE school or for access to the online course. E-mail addresses of the participants are also used for exchanging information and notifications on DIM ESEE school, including helping the participants to apply for CEEPUS scholarship to achieve smaller tuition fee, notifying them of possible changes in the schedule, informing them on logistics etc. The participants will not receive any e-mails intended to advertise or promote commercial or other contents not related to the school.

Usage Data

We may also collect information how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Who we share your data with and how long we retain your data

Personal data is collected for the purpose of issuing the proforma invoice to the participants of the school and/or online course. The proforma invoices are issued by the Faculty. DIM ESEE school is part of KIC DIM ESEE project, financed by European Institute of Innovation & Technology, which means that the collected data and payment details need to be kept for a certain period at the Faculty for purposes of project reporting. This data is stored at the Faculty in accordance with GDPR. Personal data provided by the registration form are automatically forwarded to our website administrator for security reasons. Website administrator does not use hereby collected data for any kind of marketing or advertising and manages the data in compliance with GDPR.

What rights you have over your data

Participants can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about them, including any data they have provided to us. They can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about them in any time. They can opt out from receiving informative e-mails related to DIM ESEE school and/or online course, depending on the purpose they have shared they data for.

How we protect your data

Before applying for DIM ESEE school or online course via registration form, participants have to explicitly give their consent to receive informative e-mails related to DIM ESEE school and/or online course by ticking the box below the form. Personal data collected via these forms are never disclosed to any other party not related to issuing the invoices or managing the website.

Contact forms

We do not require visitors of the page to share their personal data via contact form in case they have inquiries. Instead, all visitors of the page can contact us to the e-mail address indicated on the website:, disclosing only as many personal data as they wish, using an e-mail address that does not reveal their personal information.
