During 30th and 31st March 2021, online Kick-off meeting was held for the project DIM ESEE-2, gathering representatives of all 14 partner institutions. Led by University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering, and funded by EIT RawMaterials, DIM ESEE-2: Implementing innovations is a lifelong learning project focused on rising innovativeness among raw materials professionals in the ESEE region, based on positive results and success of previous Dubrovnik International ESEE mining school (2016-2020). For the duration of DIM ESEE-2 (2021 – 2025), we expect that a total of 120+ professionals will receive lifelong learning education by attending 3-day innovative workshops in beautiful city of Dubrovnik, on the following topics:
- Innovation in exploration (20th – 22nd October 2021),
- Innovation in process-oriented orebody characterization (19th – 21st October 2022)
- Innovation in extraction (18th – 20th October 2023), and
- Innovation in ore processing (16th – 18th October 2024).
During the first day of the Kick-off meeting, project coordinators presented the plan and possible challenges to implementation of work packages related to Go-to-market strategy, Project management and Communication and dissemination, while leaders of each year’s innovative workshops presented the main points of their workshop. During the second day, each partner institution presented its dissemination plan, including promotion of the innovative workshop at various business events, meetings with companies and policy-makers, as well as presentation of spin-off programme for university students at various university events and via digital communication. All partners are also obliged to promote the project in some form of media appearance – via TV, radio, article in a specialized magazine etc. The main goal is to recruit 30-40 professionals from RM sector to participate in innovative workshop in Dubrovnik, but also to raise awareness of the project to wider society.
